The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said a patrol came on Sunday under grenade fire from an Israeli drone and tank fire near Kfar Kila in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli attacks “are in violation of Security Council Resolution 1701 and Lebanon’s sovereignty, and show disregard for safety and security of the peacekeepers implementing Security Council-mandated tasks in southern Lebanon,” UNIFIL said in a statement.
It said no injuries or damage were reported in the attack.
Statement on grenade attack on peacekeepers:
This afternoon, at about 5:45 p.m., an Israeli drone came close to a UNIFIL patrol operating near Kfar Kila and dropped a grenade.

The peacekeeping mission also said that an Israeli drone flew over a UNIFIL patrol in the same area, prompting peacekeepers to take defensive measures to neutralize it.
The Israeli occupation army, for its part, accused UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon of shooting down one of its drones.
The occupation army said on Monday that an “intelligence-gathering drone was downed in the area of Kfar Kila in southern Lebanon during a routine intelligence-gathering activity in the area,” military spokesman Nadav Shoshani said on X.
The Attack is the fourth on UNIFIL forces in two months.
Earlier in October, the UNIFIL was subjected to two attacks in which Israeli occupation forces dropped grenades towards personnel of the UN peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanese border towns.
In a similar episode in September, UNIFIL said Israeli drones had dropped four grenades near peacekeepers in what was described the most serious attack on the international forces since the war ended in November 27, 2024.
