MP Mohammad Raad, Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, stated that “freedom and sovereignty are fundamental components of any nation worthy of its people, and they are not granted by anyone but seized by the will, awareness, faith, and commitment to moral values and human dignity of its sons.”
MP Raad added that “resistance is the highest expression of this awareness, and it is a human right that does not need legitimization from anyone, as it is a defensive act stemming from the will of a people who refuse to submit to occupation and its projects.”
In a speech during a ceremony honoring the martyrs of the Civil Defense who were killed during the recent Zionist aggression on Lebanon, MP Raad pointed out that “the resistance in Lebanon is a force for society and the state, not a burden on them, as experiences have proven that betting on international friendships to protect the nation was an illusion, and that sovereignty is not achieved by submitting to the friends of the enemy and their interests, but by the act of free national will embodied by the honorable sons of this nation.”
MP Raad also stated that “the Zionist enemy, which has practiced the most heinous forms of genocide in Gaza and Lebanon through killing, destruction, starvation, and targeting of hospitals, residential buildings, and populated areas, and has committed over 4,000 land, air, and sea violations in Lebanon, is revealing a human desertification that makes it unqualified to be part of the international community and its institutions.”
He emphasized that “this aggressive and savage behavior will sooner or later backfire on the enemy with major negative consequences, as its image has become rejected and boycotted even among Western peoples who historically supported the occupation state.”
Raad described the Civil Defense elements as “the vanguard of our people who exude the fragrance of glory, nobility, altruism, love, chivalry, and humanity.”
He added that “when 34 martyrs from this group are killed in the Zionist aggressive war in the Jabal Amel region alone, and then 5 more martyrs are added to them during debris removal operations, making the total number 39 martyrs out of 153 Civil Defense martyrs in Lebanon, it indicates the brutality of the enemy and its violation of all international laws and human values.”
MP Raad addressed these heroes, saying, “You are the spirit of our resistance people and the example of its noble values, you are the silent heroes, the faithful, the messengers of humanity, and the balm for the wounds of our people. Your martyrs and wounded are in the pupils of our eyes and the depths of our hearts.”
