On the second anniversary of the “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood”, Hamas senior official Fawzi Barhoum held a press conference, saying: “We bow our heads in commemoration to the souls of our people’s martyrs, killed during the path of struggle and steadfastness in the face of the brutal Zionist aggression.”
“For two full years, our steadfast people in the Gaza Strip have endured a war of genocide, systematic starvation, comprehensive destruction, and ethnic cleansing at the hands of the Zionist occupation, in an aggression unparalleled in modern history,” Barhoum said.
Nearly 95% of the victims of this blatant aggression are defenseless civilians, constituting an eternal stain of shame on this Zionist entity and all its backers who remain silent about condemning this genocide, he added.
Barhoum indicated that the Zionist enemy’s plans have proven that its two-year war was not only directed against Hamas and the resistance factions, “but was a comprehensive war against the entire Palestinian existence, and a frantic endeavor to break the will of our people, erase their cause, and obliterate their inalienable right to liberation and return”.
“The heroic ‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ restored our national cause to its global position, exposed the face of the fascist occupation and its threat to the security and stability of the region and the world, placed it in unprecedented isolation, and stirred the conscience of peoples and states to stand with our people and recognize its independent state.”
Hamas priority is the immediate halt of the aggression and genocide against the Gaza Strip, Barhoum said, adding : “We renew our covenant to adhere to all our national rights and defend the aspirations of our dignified people for liberation, reform, and independence.”
“In commitment to our national responsibility towards our people and their legitimate rights, the Movement has acted with high responsibility towards all ceasefire proposals over the past two years, the latest of which was the proposal by US President Donald Trump,” he said.
“The Movement’s delegation participating in the current negotiations in Egypt is striving to overcome all obstacles to achieve an agreement that fulfills the aspirations of our people in Gaza, most importantly:
-A permanent and comprehensive ceasefire.
-The full withdrawal of the occupation army from all areas of the Gaza Strip.
-The unrestricted entry of humanitarian and relief aid.
-Ensuring the return of the displaced to their residential areas.
-The immediate start of a comprehensive reconstruction process under the supervision of a Palestinian national body of technocrats.
-Concluding a fair prisoner exchange deal.”
Hamas official warned against the attempts of criminal Netanyahu to obstruct and sabotage the current round of negotiations, just as he deliberately sabotaged all previous rounds for ceasefire.
Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesman said on Tuesday that ‘Israel’ should have ceased operations in Gaza already in line with Trump’s plan.
“We await the outcomes of the negotiations in the coming days regarding the ceasefire. This question should be directed first to the Israeli occupation government. It was supposed to actually cease fire if the statements made by the prime minister there regarding adherence to the Trump plan were true,” Majed al-Ansari told reporters in Doha.
