A spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said in Moscow that “Iran and Russia negotiated construction of power plants larger than Bushehr power plant.”
Behrouz Kamalvandi made the remarks on the sidelines of Russia’s World Atom Week (WAW)’s Atom Expo 2025 exhibition in Moscow, where an Iranian delegation headed by the AEOI head Mohamad Eslami was attending.
He hailed Russia’s cooperation with Iran in building the Bushehr Power Plant in the south of the country, saying that the plant fully meets international standards.
Rosatom said on Thursday it signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday on the construction of small nuclear power plants in Iran, without giving a number.
