The Lebanese Army Command announced that a naval operation successfully intercepted the vessel Hawk III as it attempted to leave Lebanese territorial waters illegally.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the army stated that the interception operation came at the direction of the competent judiciary and based on intelligence information about the ship’s movements.
A unit from the Marine Commando Regiment, in coordination with the Lebanese Navy and Air Force, pursued the ship and stopped it approximately 30 nautical miles off the Lebanese coast.
