Several Israeli soldiers were killed and many others were injured as Palestinian resistance carried out a valiant ambush in Gaza’s Rafah.
Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas Palestinian resistance group, announced that its fighters carried out a complex operation east of Rafah, in southern Gaza Strip, on Tuesday, killing seven soldiers and wounding several others.
The ambush took place near Al-Shoka School, where Al-Qassam fighters detonate anti-personnel “Ra’adiya” shell shortly after Israeli troops entered a building.
The Ra’adiya shell killed four Israeli soldiers and wounded others, Al-Qassam stated on Wednesday.
The group added that “immediately upon the arrival of the rescue forces, our mujahideen managed to snipe two soldiers.”
“During an attempt by our mujahideen to capture an Israeli soldier, he was killed by his own army, and a helicopter landed in the area to evacuate the injured troops and bodies of the killed soldiers,” Al-Qassam said in the statement.
Meanwhile on Wednesday, the Israeli occupation military announced that three soldiers were killed and many others were injured, some seriously, a day earlier in Gaza battles.
The slain troops served in the Nahal Brigade’s 50th Battalion, Israeli media quoted occupation army as saying, putting the toll of soldiers killed in Gaza since the start of the ground offensive in the besieged territory at 291.
According to an initial Israeli military probe, the three occupation soldiers were killed by a blast in a booby-trapped building in Rafah.
An officer and two soldiers of the 50th Battalion were seriously wounded and another officer was moderately hurt in the same incident, the occupation military said.
In another incident on Tuesday, an officer and a soldier of the Combat Engineering Corps’ 614th Battalion were seriously wounded in northern Gaza, the occupation army added.
Separately, a soldier of the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit was seriously wounded and three other soldiers were lightly and moderately hurt as a result of a blast in a booby-trapped tunnel shaft in southern Gaza on Tuesday, according to the Israeli military.
Earlier on Tuesday, Al-Qassam published a video showing resistance fighters shelling Israeli soldiers trying to advance in central Gaza.

Elsewhere in the northern refugee camp of Jabalia, Al-Qassam fighters appeared in a video showing a Merkava tank and concentrations of IOF being targeted.
