In a revealing interview conducted by Martha Raddatz, ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, issued a stark warning, declaring an increased likelihood of triggering a broader regional war in the Middle East due to the expanding scope of conflict.
During the exclusive conversation on Tuesday, the senior Iranian diplomat emphasized the dangerous ramifications of the widening conflict, stating, “The scope of the war has become wider. This means that the danger of having a wider war in the region has gone up.”
Highlighting the root cause of escalating tensions, Amir-Abdollahian pointed fingers at the United States and Israel. He called on the U.S to halt its support, including logistics, weapons, political endorsements, and media collaboration, for what he described as a genocidal war led by ‘Israel’.
The Foreign Minister even went as far as to say, “If the US today stops its backing… Netanyahu will not survive for 10 minutes,” making it clear that resolving the crisis hinges on Washington’s actions before Tel Aviv’s.
Moreover, Amir-Abdollahian underlined the significance of Hamas and its role as a Palestinian liberation group in resisting occupation, offering a broader perspective on the dynamics shaping the regional wars.
