Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani referred to the special effort made by the Sultanate of Oman to exchange prisoners between Iran and the US, saying that Iran looks at prisoner swap from a humanitarian perspective.
Speaking to IRNA, Kanaani said that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers exchanging prisoners from a humanitarian point of view.
He also appreciated the special efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman in this regard.
Meanwhile, addressing his press conference on Monday, Kanaani said that Iran has indirectly pursued the issue of prisoner exchange with the United States, adding that the US side has failed to abide by its commitments.
