Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amirabdollahian announced here on Monday that he is ready to hold a joint meeting with his counterparts From the Persian Gulf littoral states and other neighbors.
Amirabdollahian made the remarks at the third Tehran Dialogue Forum underway in the Iranian capital as of this morning.
The Islamic Republic is ready to build confidence and cooperate with its neighbors in the region and in the Persian Gulf in all fields, the foreign minister underlined, adding that Tehran does so in order to help eliminate the idea that security would be provided from abroad.
He hoped that cooperation among regional states would bring about sustainable security to the region.
Further, Amirabdollahian expressed hope that today’s Tehran forum would review the international and regional developments and challenges through exchange of viewpoints.
He described the Tehran Dialogue Forum as a gathering for creating an atmosphere of understanding and sharing points of view.
The Iranian government has concentrated on the issue of the neighborhood while taking strong steps toward building confidence and strengthening friendship in the region.
Then, the foreign minister highlighted the Islamic Republic’s measures to ensure stability in the region and fight the terrorist group Daesh (ISIS) as the common threat to the region and humanity.
Touching upon the Ukraine war, the foreign minister said the Islamic Republic’s principled policy rejects any pressure and focuses on political ways as the solution to the crisis.
He once again dismissed claims about Iran’s dispatching drones to Russia to be used in the Ukraine war.
Such claims are aimed at concealing the West’s move to fan the flames of aggression in the Ukraine war, he noted.
About the issue of security, the foreign minister said security will be provided when all enjoy it.
As he underlined, the two-decade presence of the occupiers and foreigners in Afghanistan had brought nothing to Afghanistan; meanwhile, the Islamic Republic saw the people of Afghanistan as their brothers and sisters despite what the so-called advocates of human rights did towards the Afghan nation.
Turning to Tehran-Beijing ties, Amirabdollahian said the two have upgraded cooperation to the highest level in recent years, so Iran did not expect China to copy and paste the 2014 statement.
In a related development, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani said a few days ago that Iran condemns interference in its internal affairs and does not accept any claims about its territorial integrity.
About the recent events in Iran, the foreign minister said the United States has been using any tool for meddling in Iran.
The third Tehran Dialogue Forum under the title of Neighborhood Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran: An Approach to Friendship and Trust kicked off in the Iranian capital on Monday morning with participation of 70 scholars from 36 countries.
The first and second editions of the forum were held three and two years ago.
Elsewhere, the foreign minister spoke about the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action from which the US withdrew unilaterally in May 2018, saying the United States has to leave its hypocritical policy on the 2015 nuclear deal.
On the one hand, the US talks about the nuclear negotiations and final steps to reach an agreement, and on the other hand, it supports moves to destabilize Iran and create instability, Amirabdollahian underlined.
The Islamic Republic is consulting with the high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and has continuous interaction with him, he stressed.
