A Palestinian driver slammed into an Israeli guard post at a crossing in the northern West Bank on Saturday, in what Israeli occupation authorities described as a suspected ramming attempt.
Palestinian sources reported that a Palestinian man targeted with his vehicle a gathering for Israeli soldiers on a checkpoint near the West Bank city of Jenin.
The sources added that gunshots were heard in the area, noting that occupation forces fired at the Palestinian man.
Palestinian media said that one Israeli soldier was injured in the attack.
For its part, Israeli Defense Ministry said the suspect drove into a protected barrier on the Israeli side of the Reihan Crossing.
The driver was injured as a result, though his condition was unclear, The Times of Israel reported.
