After the press conference of Head of FPM Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, in which he entrusted Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah to guarantee fairness in the cabinet formation, the Resistance Party started a new endeavor to enhance the governmental process.
According to Al-Manar TV sources, Hezbollah delegates have met MP Bassil in order to cope with the repercussion of the rhetorical escalation between the latter and Speaker Nabih Berri, who refrained from responding to Bassil and insisted on resuming his initiative.
The sources added that the meeting between Hezbollah delegates and MP Bassil will continue till reaching a solution to the governmental deadlock on the basis of Speaker Berri’s initiative, adding that the same knots are still obstructing the creation of the new government.
PM-designate, Saad Hariri, has failed to form the new government since he was nominated by the majority of the parliament members on October 22, 2020. The distribution of the ministerial seats and portfolios has been a disputable issue between Hariri and President Michel Aoun.
Speaker Berri’s initiative stipulates granting equal shares to the three main parties in the new government which is expected to be composed of 24 ministers.
