Lebanon on Sunday announced 1193 new coronavirus cases and six related deaths, raising the death toll since the virus was first detected in February to 900 Sunday.
In its daily report, the Ministry of Public Health said of the new cases, only seven were found among travelers arriving from abroad, raising the total infections nationwide to 116435.
8796 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, including 833 at Beirut International Airport, according to the report.
866 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours, including 337 at the ICU rooms, the report added, noting that the number of recoveries reached 67667.
Lebanon has been since Saturday (November 14) witnessing a two-week full lockdown over surge in coronavirus cases, with caretaker Health Minister Hamad Hasan stressing that the confinement measures aim at raising the readiness of the hospitals across the country in a bid to battle the viral respiratory disease.
