Hezbollah issued a statement offering condolences on the passing of Grand Religious Authority His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Is’haq Al-Fayyad.
What follows is the text of the statement:
{When a scholar dies, a breach is made in Islam that nothing can fill until the Day of Resurrection.}
Imam Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him)
With greater acceptance of Allah’s decree and destiny, and with profound sorrow and grief, Hezbollah received the news of the passing of the eminent religious authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Is’haq Al-Fayyad, one of the pillars of the religious authority in Holy Najaf and one of the most prominent scholars of the Hawza, who devoted his noble life to serving authentic Muhammadan Islam, spreading the teachings of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and educating generations of scholars, jurists, and students of religious sciences who carried his scholarly and moral message throughout the Islamic world.
The great departed scholar represented an eminent intellectual, spiritual, and academic stature. He was among the most distinguished students of the great religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Abu Al-Qasim Al-Khoei (may Allah sanctify his secret). He enriched the Islamic library through his scholarly, jurisprudential, and foundational works and research, and through his words reinforced the authentic values of Islam founded upon wisdom, moderation, and tolerance. Over many decades, he contributed to the development of conscious and faithful individuals. His Eminence was also known for his principled and steadfast positions in support of the just causes of the Ummah and for defending the rights of the oppressed.
We extend our deepest condolences and sympathy to the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Al-Husseini Al-Sistani (may his blessed shadow endure), to the esteemed religious authorities, the seminaries, the scholars of the Islamic Ummah, the family of the deceased, his students, admirers, and followers. We ask Allah Almighty to envelop him in His vast mercy and pleasure and to grant his family and loved ones patience and solace.
