Four Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and three wounded in the latest spike in violence in the country’s conflict-torn east, the defense ministry said on Thursday.

Over the past 24 hours two soldiers have been killed in shelling and two more received fatal injuries during a mine explosion, the ministry said in a statement.
