Dozens of people were martyred and many others were injured on Monday, including journalists and rescue workers, when the Israeli occupation struck Nasser Hospital in Gaza’s Khan Younis.
Health Ministry in Gaza announced at least 20 people were martyred in the Israeli strike.
“The [Israeli] occupation forces’ targeting of the hospital today and the killing of medical personnel, journalists, and civil defense personnel is a continuation of the systematic destruction of the health system and the continuation of genocide. It is a message of defiance to the entire world and to all values of humanity and justice,” the ministry said in a statement.

The Israeli occupation army issued a statement in which it confirmed the strike in the area of Nasser Hospital.
Five journalists were among 20 people martyred in the Israeli strike on Nasser Hospital.
The journalists included those who work with foreign agencies. They were identified as Hossam Al-Masri (Reuters news agency), Mohammed Salama (Al Jazeera), Mariam Abu Daqa (The Independent and APc freelance), Moaz Abu Taha (NBC) and Ahmad Aziz were martyred in the attack together with rescue workers.

In its war on Gaza since October 2023, the Israeli occupation has killed at least 245 journalists, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office.
Commenting on the targeting of its journalists, Reuters spokesperson has said the agency is “devastated to learn of the death of Reuters contractor Hussam al-Masri and injuries to another of our contractors, Hatem Khaled, in Israeli strikes on the Nasser hospital in Gaza today”.
The spokesperson said Reuters is “urgently seeking more information” about the attack and have “asked authorities in Gaza and Israel to help us get urgent medical assistance for Hatem”.
Gaza City Offensive and Famine
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces have been intensifying attacks on the Gaza city, with reports saying that the IOF explosive-laden robots in Yafa Street amid aerial bombardment of Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods.
The campaign to occupy Gaza City comes as famine spreads across Gaza, especially in the northern Gaza Strip.
Health Ministry in Gaza said Sunday that 289 people, including 115 children, have died of malnutrition and starvation since the start of the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Doctors in the besieged enclave said there’s little they can do to stop children dying of starvation from the Israeli-engineered famine in Gaza.
