Hezbollah firmly denied on Tuesday allegations by Al-Hadath Channel that the Lebanese resistance party smuggles weapons via Beirut International Airport, stressing that such “cheap fabrications” are aimed at defaming Hezbollah’s resistance.
In a statement, Hezbollah’s Media Relations Office noted that Al-Hadath channel’s fabrications intersect with the continuous Israeli claims on Hezbollah’s alleged arms smuggling as they form a cover for any Israeli aggression that could target the Lebanese airport.
“Such falsities constitute a serious offense to the Lebanese State and its entire security services stationed at Rafik Hariri International Airport,” the Hezbollah’s statement read.
“The implicit goals of such allegations are to hold Hezbollah responsible for any violation that could take place at the airport, to defame the Lebanese security bodies and to create tensions at a time of recording heavy traffic at the airport.”
The Lebanese resistance party, furthermore, accused some Lebanese sides of being part of an anti-Hezbollah campaign.
“We denounced the complicity of some Local sides who propagated such falsities and worked to make judicial notices out of them.”
“Compatibility and partnership between these media outlets, whose goals are well known, and some local sides, whose affiliation to foreign sides are also well known, are exposed by the Lebanese people,” the statement added.
Hezbollah concluded its statement by saying that “all attempts defame Hezbollah’s honored resistance and to deceive the Lebanese public opinion have nothing to do with our people’s morals and their free will to confront the Israeli occupation.”
