Israeli occupation forces brutally attacked Palestinian worshippers in Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Al-Quds, as they secured the entrance of Zionist settlers to the holy site on Jewish holidays.
Palestinian media reported that a large number of Israeli occupation forces broke into the Muslim holy place in the early hours of Monday, and attacked worshipers who were performing Dawn prayers at Al-Aqsa.
The occupation forces brutally attacked Palestinians in the courtyards of the holy compound and forced them to leave the area in a bid to provide a safe ground for Zionist settlers marking the Jewish New Year.
Palestinian worshippers were then besieged in Al-Qibali Mosque by occupation forces who opened fire at them.
Occupation forces also attacked Palestinian journalists and prevented Al-Aqsa Preacher Sheik Omar Al-Kisswani from talking to media.
For his part, Head of Supreme Islamic Council of Al-Quds Sheikh Ikrima Sabri described developments in Al-Aqsa as dangerous, calling on Palestinians to defend Al-Aqsa against Israeli attacks and provocations.
“Israeli occupation trying to impose its power by violence,” Sheikh Sabri was quoted as saying by Palestinian media.
