Spokesman of Yemen’s Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Sarea announced via Twitter that the Yemeni air defenses managed late Saturday to shoot sown a US-made spy drone over Marib Province.
In a tweet, General Sarea said that the ScanEagle drone was carrying hostilities when it was shot down by the suitable weapon.
In another tweet, the military spokesman indicated that the Yemeni forces fired a ballistic missile at gatherings of Saudi-led mercenaries in Sarwah province, killing or injuring dozens of them.
General Sarea added that five of the mercenaries vehicles were destroyed and incinerated.
Yemen has been since March 25, 2015 under aggression by the Saudi-led coalition in a bid to restore power to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, who is Riyadh’s ally.
Tens of thousands of Yemenis have been killed or injured by Saudi-led airstrikes.
The Arab country has been also under harsh blockade b the coalition which includes in addition to the Kingdom, the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Morocco and Sudan.
