The Lebanese President Michel Aoun met on Tuesday at Baabda palace with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

After the meeting, Cavusoglu said that he discussed with President Aoun the cooperation between the two sides, adding that he felicitated the Lebanese president on the new cabinet formation and Independence Day.

Cavusoglu later met with the House Speaker Nabih Berri, raising the issue of cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the Lebanese foreign minister welcomed his Turkish counterpart discussing with him the file of the displaced Syrians as well as the diplomatic crisis between Lebanon and the Gulf states.
