The International Amnesty and 15 human rights organizations demanded the release of the Bahraini prisoner, Abdul Jalil Sankis.
In a joint statement, the organizations mentioned that Sankis, who is serving a lifetime sentence in jail, has been on a hunger strike because he is being mistreated by the prison authorities.
The statement added that Sankis, who has been arrested in 2011 after participating in the revolution, suffers from chronic diseases.
Since 2011, Bahrainis have been rebelling against the regime’s dictatorship, demanding the restoration of democracy, equality and freedom. In response, the regime authorities have resorted to violence in dealing with the peaceful revolution.
