Leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, hailed the formation of salvation government, saying that such move strengthens the national unity against the foreign invasion.
Congratulating Yemenis on Independence day, Sayyed Houthi called on his people to take lesson from this occasion in the fight against foreign invasion which the country has been subjected to more than 18 months ago.
“Despite the capabilities of the invader in that time, and the help offered by the country’s traitors, our people managed to expel the colonizer,” Sayyed Houthi said referring to the declaration of Yemen’s independence from the United Kingdom in 1967.
Meanwhile, the leader of Ansarullah revolutionary group called to preserve unity among patriot factions who are fighting the Saudi-led campaign against Yemen.
In this context, Sayyed Houthi urged these factions to turn a deaf ear to voices which seek sedition.
On the other hand, Sayyed Houthi hailed the formation of the salvation government, saying that such step bolsters the national unity and serves the people in the light of the harsh situation especially on the economic level.
As he urged cooperation between the government and the people, Sayyed Houthi called for a mass rally in support of the new government, noting that the preparatory committee will soon set a date for such rally.
Saudi Arabia, which leads a coalition of several Gulf states, started an invasion in March 2015 and has sustained the campaign so far at the cost of thousands of Yemeni lives to restore power to Yemen’s former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a steadfast Riyadh ally, who had resigned and fled to the Saudi capital in 2014. He returned to Aden in November 2015.
