President Michel Aoun held Monday at Baabda palace a security meeting attended by the caretaker Defense and Interior ministers Elias Bou Saab and Raya Hassan in addition to the army and security chiefs.
The meeting highlighted the presence of riot groups that aim at diverting the protest track, deciding to arrest their members in view of the data collected by the security agencies about them, according to Al-Manar reporter.
The reporter noted that the meeting was supposed to be for the Higher Defense Council, but that the caretaker premier Saad Hariri’s rejection of attending it imposed its nature as a mere security meeting.
