Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem hailed on Wednesday the stances made by the Lebanese President Michel Aoun, describing them as honorable and responsible.
Sheikh Qassem maintained that Aoun stressed Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence and national unity, maintaining that the President is the primary guarantee for stability in the country.
Sheikh Qassem also greeted President Aoun for his stances “which will protect Lebanon from both the Israeli and the takfiri enemies”.
“The international pressures against Hezbollah are not new, and they are increasing. Some sides are seeking to square political accounts with Hezbollah after they failed to do so militarily, since it defeated Israel in 1993, then in 1996, and particularly in 2006,” President Aoun told the French Le Figaro magazine.
“Hezbollah’s popular base constitutes more than the third of the Lebanese people,” he underlined.
“Unfortunately, some foreign public opinion is determined to make Hezbollah an enemy,” he added.
