Dozens of Yemenis were martyred or injured on Thursday, with the majority of the victims are children, in a Saudi strike on Saada’s Dahian town.
Yemen’s Al-Massirah TV channel quoted medical sources as saying that 39 people were martyred and 51 others were injured.
Most of the victims are children, the sources said, adding that the Saudi warplanes targeted a bus carrying school students in a market in Dahian town.
For its part, the International Committee of the Red Cross confirmed the attack, saying that an attack on a bus carrying children in northern Yemen left dozens of people dead or wounded on Thursday.
“Following an attack this morning on a bus driving children in Dahyan Market, northern Saada, @ICRC_yemen- supported hospital has received dozens of dead and wounded,” the organization said on Twitter.
Yemen has been since March 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led Coalition, in a bid to restore control to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is Riyadh’s ally.
Tens of thousands of people have been killed and injured in the strikes launched by the coalition, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
The coalition, which includes in addition to Saudi Arabia and UAE: Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan and Kuwait, has been also imposing a harsh blockade against Yemenis.
