A third Russian Black Sea Fleet small missile ship has embarked on a voyage to Syria a day after two others entered the Mediterranean waters, a source in the Crimean security agencies told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
The Kalibr cruise missile-equipped Serpukhov and Zeleny Dol corvettes are planned to join the Russian Navy’s permanent task force as part of an off-shore maritime zone rotation in the Mediterranean.
“The third Black Sea Fleet small missile ship, The Mirazh [Project 1234], has left Sevastopol heading to the Mediterranean Sea,” the source said, noting that the vessel is equipped with the Malakhit anti-ship missile.
