Zionist warplanes hit several targets across Gaza strip early on Monday, prompting Palestinian resistance to respond by firing rockets towards the occupied territories.
Israeli media claimed that the Israeli strikes targeted nine sites for Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, adding that the attacks were in response to incendiary kites being sent into occupied territories.
“Fire balloons” and kites carrying flammable material have become symbols of the Palestinian protests in recent weeks in a new way to confront occupation forces who have been firing live bullets at Palestinian protesters across the border with Gaza.
At least 130 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli gunfire since March 30, when protests aimed at demonstrating Palestinians’ right of return to their occupied lands. No Israelis have been killed.
For its part, the Palestinian resistance responded to the Israeli attacks, with several rounds of red alert sirens were heard in the occupied territories.
Israeli media reported that the sirens were heard in the so-called “Hof Ashkelon Regional Council, the Ashkelon industrial zone, Kibbutz Yad Mordechai and Netiv Ha’asara.”
