The Lebanese President, Michel Aoun, on Thursday called his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas to express solidarity with the Palestinians over their rejection of the fresh US decision to recognize Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the Zionist entity’s capital.
“Lebanon stands by Palestine,” Aoun confirmed to Abbas.
Aoun also dwelt on the Jerusalem issue with his itinerants at Baabda palace, who included the representative of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council in Canada Sayyed Nabil Abbas, and Armenian Patriarch Aram I Kishishian.
“What happened yesterday goes against humanity and against all rights; and it strips the U.S. of its capacity as a great power working to reach just peace in the Middle East,” Aoun said.
