Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said on Thursday that Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri can leave Saudi Arabia “when he pleases.”
Earlier, Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun accused Saudi authorities, claiming Hariri is being “held and detained” in the country since the politician failed to return to Beirut 12 days after his resignation. Al-Jubeir dismissed the allegations as “baseless.”
Meanwhile, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian stated Hariri, who resigned from his post on November 4 during a visit to Riyadh, has accepted Emmanuel Macron’s invitation to come to France for some time.
