Iran on Saturday condemned a suicide bombing near Islam’s holiest site in Mecca and offered Saudi Arabia its assistance in tackling terrorism.
“Iran… as always expresses its readiness to assist and cooperate with other countries to confront these criminals, who deal death and ignorantly spread hate,” foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghassemi said.
Saudi Arabia said on Friday it had foiled a terrorist attack on the Grand Mosque. The state Al-Ekhbaria news channel said 11 people were injured in the collapse of a three-storey building where a suicide bomber had been locked up and detonated.
