Qatari Armed Forces’ contingent returned to Doha yesterday after participating in the military aggression carried out by the Saudi-led coalition on Yemen.
The Command of Saudi Coalition announced on Monday that it had decided to end the participation of the State of Qatar in the coalition, according to the Saudi state news agency SPA.
In a statement, the coalition command said that this move is due to Qatar practices that promote terrorism, support its organizations in Yemen, including Al-Qaeda and ISIL.
The troops were greeted upon arrival by HE Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem and a number of senior army officers.
This comes as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates have cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing it of destabilizing the region.
Earlier, Riyadh had closed its borders, severing land, sea and air contact with the tiny peninsula of Qatar.
