German police said on Thursday law enforcement officers shot a man after he tried to attack them at a hospital in Berlin.

The incident occurred in the Kreuzberg area and the attacker was shot in the leg. The motivation behind the attempted attack is still unknown.

The area around the hospital has been closed down by the authorities.
