The Zionist circles continued highlighting the deteriorating conditions of the occupation entity sinking in the quagmire of the war on Gaza ongoing since October, 2023, as well as the consequent border battle with Hezbollah.
Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” indicated that, due to a shortage of combat soldiers in the “Israeli” army, it has been decided to significantly reduce personnel in technology units such as 8200 and 81, and reassign a number of soldiers to the ground forces.
“Israel Hayom” newspaper maintained that the war in the south has proven that the ground forces consumed far more ammunition than planned, adding that the “Israeli” army is currently implementing strict measures to conserve ammunition.
“If we are dealing with a combat scenario, the logical assessments within the security system are that army bases, defense industries, and infrastructure will be primary targets for Hezbollah’s precision missiles and highly explosive drones,” the same paper mentioned.
“The commanders and soldiers of the ‘Israeli’ army are exhausted and fatigued. The regular army has fought and trained for eight and a half months without a break, and many reserve soldiers have served 100 or 200 days in the past year or more. Psychologically, everyone has gone through challenging experiences that need addressing.”
Hebrew newspaper “Maariv” quoted a settler from “Shlomi” near the Lebanese border as saying, “We never imagined we would face the horrifying reality of homes burning and being destroyed by rocket fire. Who would have thought we would have to leave ‘our homeland’ and become refugees in our ‘own country’? We are living in a continuous nightmare and don’t feel like anyone is trying to wake up from it anytime soon.”
“Maariv” also quoted Eliyahu Zini, Head of the Hesder Yeshiva in Haifa as saying, “We see how the Israeli government and the General Staff are trembling at the thought of entering Lebanon.”
According to Hebrew Channel 12 website, in the event of a war with Lebanon, the Zionist Air Force will not be able to provide close air support to all forces in every combat scenario.
“Additionally, the threat faced by aircraft, especially drones and helicopters, will be much greater than in Gaza, affecting close air support missions as well.”
Hezbollah has been striking the Zionist occupation outposts and settlements in support of Gaza since October, 2023.
