On the 198th day of the Israeli occupation’s brutal campaign in Gaza, a grim discovery has come to light.
The Civil Defense in Gaza has announced the recovery of 190 bodies from a mass grave at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, in addition to a thousand Palestinians who remain missing. These individuals were victims of the occupation’s relentless targeting of civilians, health facilities, and shelters, particularly in Rafah.
Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal revealed that the recovered bodies belonged to Palestinians of various demographics, including many women and children. These individuals had been killed by the occupation army during its incursion into the Nasser complex and subsequently buried en masse within its premises.

Despite the withdrawal of the occupation from certain areas in Gaza, search operations for more bodies are ongoing, with many still believed to be inside the complex.
Basal also highlighted the disturbing tactic of forced disappearance employed by the Israeli occupation, with around two thousand Palestinians missing following the occupation’s withdrawal from several Gaza areas. These individuals’ fates remain unknown, with uncertainty over whether they have been detained or buried clandestinely.
The brutality of the Israeli occupation knows no bounds, as evidenced by the stripping of victims before their killings and the use of previously unseen weaponry. Basal emphasized that the ongoing actions in Gaza constitute ethnic cleansing, unparalleled in human history.
The toll of this devastating war on Gaza continues to mount, with over 110,000 casualties, mostly children and women, and widespread destruction and famine. Despite facing charges of genocide at the International Court of Justice, Israel persists in its campaign of aggression.
The recent withdrawal of occupation forces from Khan Yunis has allowed for the recovery of bodies and the revelation of the mass grave at the Nasser Medical Complex. Prior to this, the occupation forces had subjected the complex to a violent raid, targeting medical personnel and displaced individuals, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
