Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amirabdollahian left here for Rome at the head of a delegation on Monday.
Amirabdollahian is scheduled to exchange views with officials in Italy and Vatican City about international, regional, and bilateral issues.
According to the foreign minister, his Rome visit is taking place at the invitation of his Italian counterpart.
As he noted, he has had meetings with his Italian counterpart two times in New York and Munich.
Following up the economic and political cooperation is among aims of the Rome visit.
