Iraqi Army and Hashd Shaabi paramilitary force started on Saturday a new anti-terror operation in Anbar.

Hashd Shaabi along with Rapid Response Force, Border Guard Force, Federal Police and Counter Terrorism Service are taking part in Op. Firm Will in Anbar deserts, west of Iraq, the Hashd Shaabi Media Office announced in a statement.

The offensive aims at hunting remnants of ISIL terrorists and staging preemptive operation in the area to counter any potential terrorist attack against civilians or Iraq forces, the statement read.

Iraqi Air Force is also taking part in the offensive, based on data required by Iraqi intelligence, the statement added.
