A Palestinian worker was martyred early Tuesday after allegedly stabbing an Israeli policeman in the southern city of Ashkelon.
Israeli media quoted occupation police as saying that the Israeli officer approached to investigate the Palestinian worker “who was acting suspiciously” at a building site in the city.
“The man drew a knife and stabbed the officer, who managed to draw his gun and kill the Palestinian,” Times of Israel claimed, citing occupation police.
The Palestinian worker was a resident of Al-Khalil (Hebron) in the West Bank, in his forties, according to occupation police.
The Israeli officer was among an occupation patrol during a check for Palestinians who are ‘illegally’ in the occupied territories, the Israeli police added.
