The Lebanese House speaker Nabih Berri addressed on Thursday the 32nd session of the Arab Parliamentary Union held in Cairo, underscoring the importance of restoring the Arab unity.
Speaker Berri called for formulating a new contract of cooperation and solidarity among the Arab countries, highlighting the necessity of Syria’s return to its official Arab position.
Speaker Berri also voiced Lebanon’s support to the Iranian-Saudi dialogue sponsored by the Iraqi authorities, adding that the critraia of belonging to Arabism, Islam and humanity is the commitment to the Palestinian cause.
Speaker Berri further reiterated commitment to holding the Lebanese parliamentary elections transparently, rejecting any attempt to postpone it.
It is worth noting that the 2022 parliamentary elections in Lebanon will be held i n may.
