The Cabinet session, which was scheduled this afternoon, has been postponed after consultations between the President and Prime Minister.

The Presidency Press Office stated that after consultations between President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, and Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, it was decided to postpone the Cabinet session, which was scheduled for this afternoon.

Al-Manar correspondent had earlier reported the postponement of the governmental session, which was aimed to discuss the file of the investigations into Beirut Port blast.

The Judicial Investigator into Beirut blast, Tarek Bitar, was recused on Tuesday after the two MPs Ali Hassan Khalil and Ghazi Zeaiter filed a lawsuit against him over the legitimate suspicion.

On August 4, 2020, a massive blast rocked Beirut Port blast, killing around 196 citizens and injuring over 6000 of others. The explosion also caused much destruction in the capital and its suburbs.
