Units of the Syrian Arab Army have entered Daraa Al-Balad area on Wednesday and raised the national flag over the settlement center in Al-Arba’in neighborhood.
The move came in the framework of the settlement agreement which was proposed by the Syrian State in the area, according to SANA news agency.
The agency’s reporter in Daraa said that army units entered Daraa al-Balad neighborhood, started to set up a number of posts paving the way for the start of combing and inspection operations in the area to detect weapons left behind by terrorists, including arms, ammunition, explosive devices.
The army units will also work to search on tunnels, fortifications and hideouts that terrorists had used to launch their attacks against the civilians and the army points.
On Monday, operations of handing over weapons and settling the status of dozens of gunmen from Daraa Al-Balad resumed after the terrorist groups in Daraa Al-Balad neighborhood had disrupted this agreement several times.
The agreement provides for expelling the terrorists from the neighborhood, settling the status of the gunmen and the wanted persons, handing over weapons, setting up the army’s posts and restoring services and the State’s institutions to serve the people of the neighborhood.
