Hezbollah issued on Monday a statement in which it expressed deep condolences and grief on the demise of the Iranian cleric Sayyed Ali Akbar Mohtashami Pur, 75, highlighting his long life full of jihad, strive, and perseverance aimed at serving the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the peoples of the Middle East.
The statement indicated that Sayyed Mohtashami Pur joined in 1982 the efforts of the former Secretary General of Hezbollah, the martyr Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi, and other brethren in order to launch the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon in light of the Zionist invasion and occupation of several Lebanese cities, adding that his eminence provided the Resistance with all the forms of support.
Hezbollah added that Sayyed Mohtashami Pur’s efforts aimed at serving and supporting the Palestinian cause are well-known, indicating that his injuries inflicted upon him during the assassination attempts he had survived testify his great jihadi position.
Hezbollah offered condolences to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, as well as Sayyed Mohtashami Pur’s family members, companions, and comrades, asking Holy God to grant him His Mercy along with a lofty position in Heaven.
It is worth noting that Sayyed Mohtashami Pur served as an interior minister during the 1980s as well as his country’s ambassador to Damascus.
