Dozens of Yemeni protesters stormed the presidential palace in the southern port city of Aden on Tuesday demanding payment of public sector salaries, witnesses said.
Meanwhile, the Saudi forces evacuated the Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik and other members of the Saudi-backed government from the palace and moved them to an unknown place.
Yemeni media outlets mentioned that the guard forces did not prevent the protesters from storming the palace “who had started their movement in the Banks’ Square in Crater”.
It is worth noting that the protesters demand that Saudi-backed government curb the collapse of the currency, pay the salaries and provide the locals with the basic services. The Yemeni currency is trading in the Saudi-occupied areas at 915 Riyals to the US dollar.
