Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab received in the afternoon at the Grand Serail, the Head of Hamas Party Political Bureau, Dr. Ismail Haniyeh, accompanied by a Hamas delegation.
After the meeting, Haniyeh said, “We have the pleasure, in our capacity of Islamic Resistance Movement leadership, to visit brotherly Lebanon. The meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Hassan Diab was positive and reflects the nature of the historical and fateful relationship between the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples.”
Haniyeh said he briefed the Premier about the current arrangements for holding the meeting of the Palestinian factions General Secretaries, expressing thanks to the State of Lebanon for hosting this meeting.
Hamas Chief also voiced our solidarity with Lebanon and the Lebanese people after the Beirut Port blast, wishing recovery for the wounded.
“Lebanon is always capable of overcoming such difficulties and challenges.”
