Minister of Public Health, Hamad Hassan, held Monday a meeting with chairmen of the governmental hospitals across Lebanon, to whom he gave a lowdown on the measures he had decided to adopt with a view to improving the condition of the state-owned healthcare facilities.
During the meeting, Hassan shed light on the role governmental hospitals must assume during Phase IV of the general mobilization in prevention against coronavirus.
He also announced key measures aimed to ameliorate the hospitals’ financial situation as well as to ensure salaries for the staff.
Such measures include the payment of all sums due to hospitals in 2019.
“The financial crisis shall pass,” said the Minister.
“What we need is to find reasonable means to persist,” he added.
Moreover, Hassan called the governmental hospitals nationwide to receive and treat Covid-19 patients, to join the Rafik Hariri University Hospital in its mission.
“This shall be the most important preventive measure against any likely second wave in the fall.”
