Lebanon on Wednesday recorded nine new coronavirus cases, seven of them for Lebanese expatriates who returned home recently as part of Government’s operation to repatriates Lebanese nationals from corona-hit countries.
In its daily report, Lebanese Health Ministry announced that two of the nine cases are domestic, while the other seven cases are imported. The new infections raised the total number of people infected with COVID-19 disease to 750.
It was noticeable that the number of PCR tests conducted in the last 24 hours topped 2,000, 1715 of them for Lebanese residents, while the other 498 tests were carried out for Lebanese expatriates, according to the report.
Meanwhile, no coronavirus-related death was recorded in the last 24 hours, the ministry said, keeping the death toll nationwide at 25.
On the other hand, the number of recovery cases reaches 213, the report noted.
