The Israeli occupation army carried out a massacre in the town of Ansar in the early hours of Saturday morning, following a failed attempt to invade and occupy the strategic Ali al-Taher Hill in the Nabatieh district.
According to a report by Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), the Israeli aggression targeted a populated residential building, leading to the martyrdom of seven individuals and the injury of three others. This marks the first airstrike on the town of Ansar since the imposed ceasefire was announced, representing a new and dangerous escalation.
Security sources indicated that the Israeli attack on Ansar was an attempt by the occupation forces to divert attention from their failed invasion of Ali al-Taher. “There is an attempt by the occupation to distract attention by targeting Ansar,” a source told NNA.

The bombardment was not limited to Ansar. The Israeli occupation also targeted the area surrounding Dar Al-Moalmeen (Teacher’s Institute), the al-Deir neighborhood, and the vicinity of the town square in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, within the same district.
Eight Strikes Under Cover of Night
Saturday morning’s aggression is part of a series of ongoing Israeli attempts to empty and occupy the strategically positioned Ali al-Taher Hill. Under the cover of darkness, Israeli enemy warplanes launched eight airstrikes on the area, with residents across South Lebanon reporting the sound of multiple warplanes circling overhead for extended periods.
These attacks are part of “Israel’s” continued violations of the imposed ceasefire, with the occupation army repeatedly shelling southern Lebanese villages and hills with artillery, dropping incendiary and sound bombs, and carrying out airstrikes using warplanes and drones in addition to ongoing demolition operations across border communities.
