Number of confirmed cases infected with coronavirus in Lebanon surged on Friday, Health Ministry announced, saying that the number reached 77.
The ministry said in a statement that the cases include patients across all the public hospitals in the country.
According to the ministry’s statement, an employee in the central administration has tested positive for the virus and has contracted it from a relative who has the infection.
The employee will be quarantined and those who came into contact with her will be identified and ordered to self-quarantine at home, the statement said.

Separately, Education Minister ordered the extension of schools and universities closure.
In a statement Minister Tarek Majzoub announced that the schools and universities across Lebanon will remain closed nationwide in order to ensure safety of the educational sector.
