Lebanese schools, universities and nurseries are closing till March 8 in a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus.

In a statement, Education Ministry said that the decision was a “precautionary procedure” and will go into effect Saturday February 29 till Sunday March 8.

“Out of keenness on the health of students and their families, and after consultations with Health Minister Hamad Hasan, Education Minister Tarek Majzoub asks all educational institutions to close starting from Saturday February 29 till Sunday March 8,” the statement said.

Health Ministry on Friday confirmed the country’s fourth case of coronavirus and has restricted flights from countries affected by the outbreak.
