Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed on Wednesday that the war in Syria is a perfect arena to test the willingness and ability of the international community to get united and fight terrorism.

During the ceremony of receiving credentials from new ambassadors to Moscow, Putin said that “the ability and readiness of the international community to unite efforts is being determined now on the Syrian soil, as well as fighting the terrorist threat and responding appropriately to the other international security and stability threats.”

Moreover, the Russian President pointed out that his country contributes to the Syrian internal dialogue, stressing that the solution in Syria can be only political.

“Russia and the concerned countries contribute to the internal Syrian dialogue. We believe that the solution to the Syrian conflict must be political. Only in this way we can stop the bloodshed and secure the return of millions of refugees, as well as the economic and social stabilization to this country,” Putin said.
