Commander of “Nineveh, We Are Coming” operations, Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Rasheed Yar Allah, announced on Friday that six neighborhoods in the eastern edge of Mosul city have been liberated from the grip of the so-called ‘Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) terrorist group, and that the Iraqi flag was over the main buildings.
Pointing out that the group has inflicted losses in personnel and materials, Yar Allah said that “anti-terrorism units liberated today the neighborhoods of Malayeen, Samah, Kadra’, Karkookli, Quds, Karama in the eastern edge of Mosul.”
“Anti-terrorism forces raised the Iraqi flag over buildings in the six neighborhoods after the enemy was inflicted loss of personnel and equipment,” he added.
Earlier on Friday, the commander of the anti-terrorism agency Lt. Gen. Abdul-Ghani al-Asadi, announced that his troops have entered into the city of Mosul, pointing out that they freed a number of neighborhoods from ISIL grip, denying the allegations that Kookajli liberated area has been under attacks by the terrorist group.
