Yemeni drones carried out several strikes targeting Saudi Abha International Airport and King Khaled Air Base.
Yemeni armed forces spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced early on Sunday that Yemeni drones Qasif K-2 targeted Abha International Airport in the southern Saudi province of Asir and King Khaled Air Base in Khamis Mushait.
Saree said the drones targeted control towers in the two Saudi facilities, noting that flights were canceled or delayed in Abha Airport.
The strikes were accurate and are in retaliation for the continuous Saudi-led coalition’s crimes against Yemeni people, Saree said.
“We affirm that our operations will continue as long as the Saudi regime goes ahead with its aggression and blockade,” Al-Massirah quoted the Yemeni spokesman as saying.
Yemen has been since March 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led Coalition, in a bid to restore control to fugitive Hadi who is Riyadh’s ally.
Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis have been killed or injured in the strikes launched by the coalition, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
The coalition, which includes in addition to Saudi Arabia and UAE: Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan and Kuwait, has been also imposing a harsh blockade against Yemenis.
